REFERENCE INTEGRATION · TFT

2.4-Inch 240 × 320 SPI TFT Reference Integration

A compact portrait TFT reference for MCU-based interfaces, documented as a starting architecture rather than a catalog availability promise.

APPLICATION FIT

A compact MCU-oriented display starting point.

  • Compact industrial controls and portable instruments
  • Medical or laboratory handheld interfaces
  • Connected IoT controls and smart appliance panels
  • Projected-capacitive or resistive touch can be evaluated
  • Storage-temperature reference: −30°C to +80°C

REFERENCE INTEGRATION WORKSTREAMS

Connect the display to the real product architecture.

These workstreams show how the same TFT candidate is evaluated across physical fit, electronics, embedded software and the user interaction stack.

01 · WORKSTREAM

Screen Selection & Fit

  • Confirm portrait or landscape use, viewing distance and UI density.
  • Review 350 cd/m² nominal luminance against the actual ambient-light target.
  • Verify the outline, active area, FPC route and visible opening in the enclosure.

02 · WORKSTREAM

Driver Electronics

  • Check host I/O voltage, SPI clock target, reset sequencing and available GPIO.
  • Define display power rails and backlight current control around the system power budget.
  • Review grounding, cable length and EMC conditions before the electrical interface is frozen.

03 · WORKSTREAM

Display Firmware

  • Implement ST7789V initialization for the selected orientation and pixel format.
  • Set memory addressing, color order, frame behavior and sleep/wake sequencing.
  • Validate full-frame and partial updates on the target MCU with real UI content.

04 · WORKSTREAM

Touch & Cover Lens

  • Evaluate projected-capacitive or resistive touch from the intended interaction method.
  • Coordinate touch active area, cover-lens geometry, controller interface and FPC exit.
  • Tune and validate the selected controller in the final electrical and mechanical stack.

VALIDATION GATE

Evidence before configuration approval.

  • Electrical bring-up and current draw across operating states
  • Optical readability in the target viewing and ambient-light conditions
  • Display update, sleep/wake and touch behavior on the host platform
  • Mechanical fit, cable routing and operating-temperature review

USE IT AS A STARTING POINT

Check this architecture against your device.

Share the MCU or MPU, power rails, UI update behavior, enclosure drawing, ambient-light target and touch requirements. We will identify the decisions that need confirmation.
